LMC Staff

LMC counselors are meticulously selected and thoroughly screened both from the camper base and through applicants from universities across the Southeast. Staff members are not selected based on grade point average or athletic ability: rather they are selected because they are nice, polite, sincere young men. LMC counselors and staff are mentors, teachers and friends. They are chosen because of they experience, understanding, tolerance, and ability to have fun. In addition to a completed application, references, recommendations, and background checks, NO STAFF MEMBER IS HIRED WITHOUT A THOROUGH PERSONAL INTERVIEW. We are proud of our staff.

Enter the land of enchantment... Lookout mountain Camp for Boys, a little "heaven on earth" far from the hauntsand distractions of
men... a wholesome atmosphere for the impressionable youngster.
There is no spot in America quite like the crest of Lookout Mountain. Situated where Tennessee, Alabama, and
Georgia meet, the mountain forms a great plateau, ninety miles long and about ten miles wide. Three rivers flow along this mountain top. Now in its 4th generation, the Morrison family, in 1928, built Lookout Mountain Camp just where two of these rivers join to form Lake Lookout. The camp is on the shore on the river at the very top of the mountain, about 2,000 feet above sea level, in the midst of an old growth forest.
Real log cabins! Twenty-one cabins in a circle 200 yards across provide living quarters for the campers. Approximately
5-8 campers and a counselor share a cabin made oflogs and stone. Each spacious cabin is 22 feet by 18 feet and was built in the 1940's. Campers have individual lockers and single beds. Cabin inspection is daily as each cabin tries to win "best cabin." cab inmates learn to work together, play together and develop life-long friendships. The two camp teams, "Greens" and "Whites," derived from the camp colors, will at times play competitively amongst themselves.
